How to crimp network cables

How to crimp CAT5 or CAT6 Cables (https://www.rspsupply.com/c-3713-ethe...) using an RJ45 Type Connector (https://www.rspsupply.com/c-1527-conn...) • -Can be more convenient to crimp your own cables • 1. Identify which tools you need to use. (Crimper, wire cutter, network cable, boot, RJ45 connector.) • 2. Strip the jacket off of the cable- don't cut too deep! • 3. Cut the pull string • 4. Separate the individual pairs of wire- cut the new exposed material (commonly seen in CAT6) • 5. Untwist each pair • 6. Order the wires- Orange white orange green white blue blue white green brown white brown (This is not the only order, but the most common) • 7. Straiten the wires and keep order consistent! • 8. Snip wire with wire cutter. • 9. Slide the cable into the RJ45 connector. Make sure gold pins are faced up and the orange conductors are on the left side. • 10. Crimp the RJ45 connector. • 11. Check the connection. • 12. Put boot over the connector. • 13.
