Not bad, considering this was filmed at the beginning of February! • Berners Hall Fishery located in Essex has quickly become one of the UK’s best open-access big fish day-ticket waters, and a venue Darrell chose not just because of its immense stock, but due to it being extremely open and windswept. • To catch big carp in the winter you need favourable conditions and once he’d spotted text book mild temperatures, accompanied by strong winds forecast, he knew the Berners carp would be stirring. • As always, location was key, and once the tightly packed shoal had been located he deployed his go to wide gape hinge-rigs over just a couple handfuls of maggot, hemp and sweetcorn.
