How to Make a Bookmark - DIY Bookmark Ideas • In this tutorial, I’ll show you a DIY on how to make a bookmark. This is perfect for anyone who loves to read and it would make a thoughtful gift. It’s a simple and easy DIY bookmark design and you can create more using different ribbon and charms. • WHAT I USED: • Ribbon / trim • Ribbon crimps • Charms of your choice • Jump rings • Jewelry pliers • Scissors • Yarn (for tassel, optional) • STEPS FOR DIY BOOKMARKS: • 1. Cut the ribbon / trim to the size of your book. Leave about 1 inch extra on both ends. • 2. Attach the ribbon crimps to the ends. Make sure the width of the crimps match the width of your ribbon/trim. Then, insert each end into the teeth of the crimp. Use jewelry pliers close the crimps and secure them in place. • 3. Attach charms of your choice to the crimps using jump rings. Open the jump ring using pliers and then place your charm inside of the ring, connect it to the crimp and close it. Repeat with the rest of your charms. This completes the DIY bookmarks tutorial. • STEPS FOR DIY TASSEL CHARM: • 1. Cut five 3-inch pieces of yarn. • 2. Thread all five pieces through a large jump ring. They fold the yarn in half with the jump ring in the middle. • 3. One by one, open up 3 small jump rings and close them all around the yarn. Then trim the ends.
