Mansaf is the National Dish of Jordan and also well known all over the middle east. • Mansaf is a celebratory meal, served at weddings, graduations, births, and holidays • Mansaf is usually served in a big serving plate . It consists of Saj/ Shrek bread, rice, lamb, almonds, and fermented yogurt, called JAMEED . • Jameed is an important ingredient, but an unfamiliar one. • What is Jameed? • Jameed is a Jordanian fermented dairy product that is made by drying salted and thickened yogurt obtained from ewe’s or goat’s milk. Traditionally, the yogurt is strained using a cheesecloth until all the whey drains off, leaving a thick yogurt paste in the cloth. • For boiling meat: • 1 KG of Lamb Meat ( bone in) • 3 liters of Water • 2 Onions • 2 Bay Leaves • 1 Cinnamon Stick • 4-5 Cardamom Pods • 3 Cloves • To Cook Rice: • 1 Tbsp of Vegetable Oil • 2 Cups Washed Basmati Rice • 3 Cups Beef Stock • 11/2 Tbsp Salt • To Prepare Jameed: • 2 Packs (500 g) liquid Jameed • 1 Cup of Yogurt • 2 Cups Beef Stock • For Garnish : • 1 Piece Saj Bread (also known as Markook/Shrek Bread ) • Chopped Fresh Parsley • Fried Almonds • • Thanks for watching • Please like, subscribe to my channel and press the bell icon to see all my delicious recipes • Follow me on instagram: • / samolicious.20
