Song chosen for this project is Cold by Nettfex. Dance moves were choreographed and danced by me in my full body tracking that I bought online, in my avatar that is Jiyu made by Elena that I bought for myself, we filmed in a world in Vrchat called Ancient Sakura made by Ziggor. Photographs were done and made by myself and taken in Vrchat as well. • Merce Cunningham is an artist who was an American dancer and choreographer who was at the forefront of American modern dance for more than 50 years. “As a choreographer, teacher, and leader of the Merce Cunningham Dance Company,Cunningham had a profound influence on modern dance.” His school still does performances to this day following and expanding his legacy, expressing creativity, thoughts, and ideas through dance. Much like me, expressing my thoughts, my soul, my love for music and dance through creativity. • Joshua Serafin’s project Void is very interesting and confusing to watch, but it is beautiful and unique. They move and dance through either black paint or oil and use it to capture the audience and intrigue them. Much like what I am trying to do with my dancing. They are an artist who combines dance, performance, visual arts, and choreography.”Exploring themes of transmigration and queer politics, Joshua centers their practice on Otherness, aiming to translate ideas of alterity and otherworldly narratives into embodied performance and forms of speculation.” I try to take you to this other world using VrChat and dance. • Wasilly Kandinsky is an Russian born artist who is primarily famous for being one of the first 'purely' abstract painters, departing from impressionism to pioneer abstract expressionism in the early 1900s. Dance Curves is an artwork of abstract drawings referencing four images of German performer, Gret Palucca, who was an early pioneer of modern dance. All four images referenced were photographed by Charlotte Rudolph, a prominent German dance photographer during that time. He captures beauty in dance through shapes and lines. I have some photographs of my movements to better connect and display much like he did with his photos. To capture the beautiful movements. • These three artists inspire me to create the video I created. To dance and perform something beautiful.
