A nice town in northern France with the Ferry Port for England. Since 1994 the Channel Tunnel has linked to nearby Coquelles from Folkestone by rail. The Straits of Dover is the narrowest point of the English Channel which is only 34 km. or 21 miles wide. On clear and sunny days the white cliffs of Dover can easily be seen from Calais.
