SF Galactic Patrol Lensman, directed by Yoshiaki Kawajiri (of Ninja Scroll, Wicked City, Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust). Download link for this film is below... • This is the rare Harmony Gold dub and soundtrack version. Harmony Gold had made an English dub in 1989 using an all new soundtrack by Peter Davison, with some tracks also used from another Harmony Gold release Robotech: The Sentinals by Michael Bradley. It was broadcast on TV but never released for sale on VHS. • Since it was meant to be broadcast at children's hour this version has a couple of scenes cut: Kim getting incapacitated by his father with a punch to the stomach during their escape from Mquie, Kim shooting himself in the arm to wake up from a delusion when fighting Helmuth, and the overly violent deaths of the Boskone commanders at the hands also of Helmuth. But in addition this version is noted for the excellent music during the outstanding bike scene towards the end, which in the original was strangely silent. • Later on Streamline Pictures re-dubbed the film using practically the same voice actors and script as this version, but kept the original Japanese soundtrack by Akira Inoue. This was released on VHS in 1992, but alas there is still no DVD release. A Laserdisc of the Japanese original exists in Japan. • About this upload: I have edited this from the Streamline version using the soundtrack to the Harmony Gold version. This audio track was then taken from my VHS recording, so it will have some imperfection (background hiss, a little crackling here and there..). This is in fact the second time I have edited the film, this version having better definition than the previous upload on YT.
