Performance of Bron-Yr-Aur, a solo acoustic piece from side 3 of Led Zeppelin's 1975 release Physical Graffiti: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Physica... • I'm tuned 1/2-step higher than Jimmy Page’s version - C# A# C# G# C# F rather than C A C G C E. There are a number of small differences in how I’m playing it, most of which are intentional. I’m also playing slightly slower - his version is about 86 bpm, but I’m more comfortable at around 83. • Guitar: Ibanez Artwood (Korean) • Interface: Steinberg UR44C • Pickup: new unreleased version of the @Mojotone Quiet Coil NC-1 with a MEMS microphone • Microphones: matched pair of @Lewitt LCT 040 small condensers (both about 12” away, one pointed at the 12th fret, one pointed at the bridge) • DAW: Reaper • Main Plugins: • Brainworkx bx_console N channel strip • @Sonible entropyEQ+ • @MeldaProduction MAutoAlign (to time/phase align the 3 signals) • Dragonfly Room reverb • @Kiive Audio Tape Face 3 • Brainworx bx_masterdesk True Peak • Bron-Yr-Aur is a cottage in Wales where members of Led Zeppelin spent time over the years - more on Wikipedia - http://wikipedia.org/wiki/Bron-Yr-Aur. From that page: • Page has explained that: • Robert (Plant) and I went to Bron-Yr-Aur in 1970. We'd been working solidly right up to that point. Even recordings were done in the road. We had this time off and Robert suggested the cottage. I certainly hadn't been to that area of Wales. So we took our guitars down there and played a few bits and pieces. This wonderful countryside, panoramic views and having the guitars ... it was just an automatic thing to be playing. And we started writing. • Full disclosure - the audio and video were done separately. That is, I first recorded the audio and then recorded a video of myself playing along with the audio. Yes, I know - it's cheating… I’m just not good enough to play perfectly all the way through consistently… maybe someday… • #guitar #ledzeppelin #jimmypage
