Finding it brought back a flood of memories, and I was happy to rediscover it. • I took a few snapshots with the 28-80mm at the park the day before I filmed this review and included them for reference. They're not meant to be great photographs,” just some samples to show you that the lens is a capable midrange kit lens zoom. • One thing that I didn't cover in the video is the focusing ring. Manual focusing is a little awkward with it, something about it just doesn't feel great. It autofocuses at a reasonable speed and makes some noise, but not a tremendous amount. If you're assembling a Canon DSLR kit with a used camera and lenses, you might want to consider this kit lens if you prefer the 28-80mm focal length range - personally, I like this range better than 18-55mm. But if you have an 18-55mm and 55-200mm, I think that combination would serve you better.
