This, of course, is from the 2005 adaptation of Pride and Prejudice directed by Joe Wright, starring Keira Knightley and Matthew MacFadyen. This is Jane Bennet (Rosamund Pike) and Charles Bingley's (Simon Woods) first dance, at the Meryton Assembly. I didn't see this video on YouTube anywhere, so I added it myself. :) • I love the dancing in this movie, especially during the Meryton Assembly. It captures so well the energy and fun of this kind of dancing, and clearly shows how young people in this period partied! :) (See my favorite dance from this movie here: • Pride and Prejudice: Meryton Assembly... ) • After much searching and help from others, including Andrea who commented below (Thanks Andrea!), I can say with confidence that the tune is called Black Bess. I think the dance here is a creation by the film's choreographer, Jane Gibson.
