In general I've had pretty good luck with CeraVe products, and because of that I thought I would try their new Hydrating Face Mineral Sunscreen Lotion with SPF 50. I always keep my eyes open for a good sunscreen so this sunscreen looked like it had potential. The CERAVE Hydrating Face Mineral Sunscreen Lotion with SPF 50 is a high strength, mineral, fragrance free, denatured alcohol free sunscreen for your face. This contains a fair amount of zinc oxide: 7% and a slightly larger amount of titanium dioxide. The new CeraVe Sunscreen also contains some beneficial ingredients in the form of ceramides, vitamin e, and sodium hyaluronate. • Overall it sounds like it could be the perfect sunscreen, until you actually try it on. This sunscreen is thick, takes some effort to apply, feels VERY drying, and has one of the more noticeable white casts from a mineral sunscreen that I've seen. After applying this my face just started to feel itchy, and to be honest, I couldn't wait to wash my face.
