Welcome to yet another episode of Art N Lite. Kalidasa was a Classical Sanskrit author who is often considered ancient India's greatest playwright and dramatist. Kumarasambhavam is an epic poem written by Kalidasa. It is widely regarded as the finest work of Kalidasa as well as one among the Sanskrit Mahakavyas. Kumarasaṃbhavam talks about the birth of Kumara (Karthikeya), the son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvathi. This epic of seventeen cantos (sargam) entails the emotions of love and romance. Goddess Parvathi performed spiritual penance to win the love of Shiva. Consequently, their son Karthikeya was born. The first canto of Kumarasambhavam, where Kalidasa describes the scenic beauty of himalaya is presented in this video. • Please leave a comment if you would like to have the verses. • Please comment your feedback, subscribe the channel and press the All button for notification on our new videos.
