Over the last few months, I have been dealing with an annoying problem where Windows will reset my default audio device to my USB headset on reboot. This problem has persisted throughout several fixes found on various websites around the net. I finally became so frustrated, that I wrote a bash script that will set the default audio device to the default audio out port on the Creative Sound Card built into my Gigabyte motherboard. • I'm using a program called NirCMD to help automate the process. You can find a link to the NirCMD webpage I use in this video, below. Also included below is the single line command I use in the bash script. Finally, the run command is listed last. This command will open the startup folder where you will copy the bash script to. • NirCMD URL: http://nircmd.nirsoft.net/setdefaults... • Bash Command: nircmd setdefaultsounddevice Speakers • Run: shell:startup • Written post for this Tips and Tricks Installment - http://bit.ly/NirCMD-Default-Audio-De... • In an upcoming video, I will show you how to bind bash scripts like this to macro keys on a gaming keyboard to quickly allow you to switch from your speakers, to your headset and vice versa when gaming, watching videos, or any other situation where an audio change might be necessary. • If you like this video, please consider becoming our patron on Patreon. - http://bit.ly/1FWfVqT • Additionally you can follow us on: • Facebook - http://on.fb.me/1dwf8AE • Twitter - http://bit.ly/1F9wjhc • The Web - http://www.themakersworkbench.com • Element14 - http://bit.ly/CJGantt-on-E14 • Find my PC Hardware reviews at - http://www.proclockers.com
