The Valse Sentimentale is part of the collection of Six Piano Pieces that Tchaikovsky published as Opus 51. In January 1882, the editor Nikolay Bernard sent a letter to Tchaikovsky asking him to write “at the request of the subscribers” some short piano works, a project that finally materialized in late summer with their publication by the publishing brothers Jurgenson. • Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky (1840-1893): • Valse Sentimentale, from Six Pieces, Op. 51 (version for cello and piano) • • Adolfo Gutiérrez Arenas, cello, and Luis Fernando Pérez, piano • Excerpt from the concert “Russian Romantics”, from the series “Russian Sonatas for cello”. • https://www.march.es/es/madrid/concie... • 17 April 2021 • Fundación Juan March, Madrid • ______________ • Concerts at Fundación Juan March: https://www.march.es/en/madrid/concerts • More videos at https://canal.march.es/es/explorar/mu... • • Instagram: / fundacionmarch • X: / la_march_madrid • Facebook: / fundacionmarch • Medium: / fundacionjuanmarch • #ValseSentimentale #Tchaikovsky #MarchVivo
