The metal frame and ultra-durable fabric decking are the quietest on the snow of all MSR decks. •  02:44 Revo™ Snowshoe Deck: Ideal for intermediate to advanced users exploring more technical terrain, or for newer snowshoers who want shoes they can grow into. The injection-molded plastic frame provides durable, lightweight traction and flexibility for a more secure grip. •  02:58 Evo™ Snowshoe Deck: Provides years of durable performance, thanks to its injection-molded plastic UniBody frame. Steel traction rails offer the essential grip required in winter conditions. • 03:11 MSR Snowshoe Sizing: Our snowshoes come in a variety of lengths. To maximize agility and efficiency, look for the smallest snowshoe length that will support your weight (plus gear) in the snow conditions and terrain you’ll be in most often. If you need an occasional boost for a powder-filled or gear-heavy trip, we offer Modular Flotation tails that extend the length of your snowshoes. • How to Choose a Snowshoe Length:  • The right length is based on your weight and the snow conditions you’ll be in the majority of the time. The more you + gear weighs and the softer the snow, the more flotation (surface area) you need. Calculate your weight plus gear—for a good estimate, add 10–15 lbs. (4.5-7 kg) to your body weight. Choose the shortest shoes you can from the size chart: they will be lighter, easier to walk in and more agile.   •  Women-Specific Sizes:  • A slightly narrower shoe (~ ¾ in. or 2 cm) provides a more natural and efficient gait for most women. The difference in flotation is minimal, and the added efficiency and ease of walking will be appreciated by anyone—women or men—with a narrow gait.  • Note on Snow Conditions: We define ‘Deep Snow’ as 24+ in. (60+ cm). In addition to depth, snow type also affects floatation. Wet, dense snow requires less length; dry, powdery snow requires a longer length.  • Snowshoe Accessories Modular Tails:  • MSR offers a variety of accessories to improve your snowshoeing experience, including trekking poles, snowshoe bags, replacement binding parts and add-on tails. Modular tails provide extra floatation and adaptability for powder conditions or when carrying heavier loads. Light enough to carry in a pack, they’re like having two snowshoes in one. MSR recommends taking an avalanche education course before venturing into the backcountry. Always pack the 10 Essentials—you are responsible for your own safety.
