Despite that, they still pulled off a huge win against a national power. Addison Huber scored on a penalty kick in the 1st half and keeper Audrey Riordan stopped 2 shots in penalties as the Chargers upset Southlake Carroll 1-1 (4-3 in penalties). • While it was just a non-district match and still 3 months from the state finals, the win is big for San Antonio after no girls soccer team even reached the quarterfinals in any of the 3 classifications of soccer. • Huber scored on a penalty in the 22nd minute after Mac Arendall was fouled in the penalty area. Hanna Kahn scored for the Dragons in the final minutes to force penalties but 2 stops by Riordan gave the win to the Chargers. The Dragons were missing several freshmen who were playing in other tournaments. • Boerne Champion would reach 2022 5A semifinals while Southlake Carroll went on to win the 6A title. • #southlakecarroll #boernechampion #txhssoccer
