In this video, Sam takes a quick look at the latest version of the awesome Taylor GS Mini-E travel guitar, check it out here: https://www.pmtonline.co.uk/taylor-gs... • If you’ve not played one before, the GS Minis are a scaled down version of Taylor’s Grand Symphony design with a compact, 23 1/2” scale length. This make’s them really comfortable and easy to play, without feeling too small and fiddly, and they produce a much bigger, louder tone than you’d expect thanks to their solid tops and curved back design. Size-wise, they’re pretty much bang in the middle of a standard full size acoustic and other travel guitars such as the Martin LX or Baby Taylor. • This particular model features a solid Koa top which has an internal relief channel routed into the underside edge, allowing it to resonate as freely as possible, and to match the top, there’s layered koa back and sides, so that’s a core of poplar sandwiched between a veneer of Koa. It looks absolutely stunning, and offers a lovely bright, but still warm tone with sweet overtones. As it’s got laminate back and sides, it’s nice and tough to take on your travels. • The satin finish neck is made from Sapele, it’s super smooth to play with a comfortable, slim feel to it, and that’s topped off with a 20 fret ebony fingerboard with mini dot inlays.Up on the headstock there’s 6 high quality Taylor chrome tuners and a nu bone nut, and down at the ebony bridge there’s a micarta compensated saddle and black bridge pins. • All of the GS mini’s are available as either straight acoustic or electro versions, and if you do go for an electro, these newer models now come fitted with Taylor’s ES-B system. This still incorporates the behind the saddle sensor design of the widely acclaimed Expression 2 system, offering that more organic, livelier sounding acoustic tone when compared to conventional under the saddle piezo pickups, but it now features an onboard chromatic tuner, with controls for volume and tone and offers up to 300 hours powered by two 3 volt batteries. • Cosmetically, the body’s finished in a satin varnish which subtly emphasises that stunning Koa grain, it is unbound but you get the impression of body binding thanks to a thin decal around the edge, and this matches the simple sound hole rosette. Finally, the GS Mini is supplied with a high quality Taylor hard foam gig bag. • Subscribe: https://www.youtube.com/c/PMTVUK?sub_... • https://www.pmtonline.co.uk/taylor-gs... • Find us on social media: •   / pmthouseofrock   •   / pmthouseofrock   •   / pmthouseofrock
