This is a drumming and music discussion facebook page. Not a fan page. I do a lot of rambling and video posting and expect the same from my friends. So come and talk with us! • I am a cancer survivor and am not the young healthy guy I used to be. But I am improving slowly but surely. Always feel free to visit this site for updates if interested. http://tonybostonfund.wordpress.com/ • Please visit my home page to see a full list of all of my gear/equipment. • All of my covers with multiple angles are filmed in ONE TAKE with multiple cameras filming at the same time. No matter how many angles end up in the video, all audio comes from one overhead large diaphragm condenser mic. The only thing I do to edit the audio is to turn up the volume and add the covered song. I do NO cutting, moving or changing any notes as I feel this is highly unethical. If we are doing covers, we should be able to do the full thing all in one sitting. So you get a full performance with mistakes and all. For better or worse. And there are plenty of mistakes in this cover. =( • As always, I LOVE FEEDBACK! OF ANY KIND! =D But preferably comments. What made you stop by this cover? The song? The drumming? The ugly guy playing the drums? =/ Are you trying to figure this song out yourself? Are you a guitar player who thought it would be cool to see what it looked like to play the drums on this song? What do you like about the song? The guitars? Bass? Vocals? Drums? Anything! I want to hear anything and everything you would be willing to share. I read all comments and respond to just about every one of them as soon as I can. I love dialogue about the things that I'm passionate about (music and drums). So let me have it if you're willing to give it. (I talk too much don't I...) OH! And feel free to leave requests below. I can't guarantee I'll get to it, but if I love the song too, then chances are high I will. Thank you for visiting and reading all this!! • So anyway, this song was a bit more difficult to cover than I thought it would be. I had all the parts down for quite some time. But it's always more difficult to play when you know you are being watched and will be scrutinized... well it is for me anyway. That's one of the reasons I love doing covers so much. The pressure of wanting to play the cover precisely keeps me on my toes and allows me to improve at a time where it's not an option to play live in a band. So I thank you all for watching this and leaving any feedback whatsoever. • So as I said: Difficulty. #1. It was hot as Hades in my room that day. For those of you who don't know, the American Midwest (as I'm sure many other places in the world are) is experiencing a pretty bad heat wave that is doing a lot of damage and making life more difficult for many people right now. With my health problems, that includes me. The day I recorded this cover, the temperature outside was about 98F (37C) with a heat index (what it actually felt like) of 115F (46C). We had our air conditioner set to about 75F (24C) but it simply could not keep up with the heat, so it was 82F (28C) in my room that day. D= You can see the sweat in my hair. =/ Gross I know. Sorry. And the humidity outside is so high, it feels like you are walking through water. Makes me sweat just thinking about it! A simple walk to my car out my front door (30 feet) and I am sweating like crazy! ANYWAY! You get the idea. It was hot! • The cover you see here was my second and final take of the day. I simply couldn't do anymore after that. Way too hot, and my muscle cramping was hitting me with a vengeance as I played. When I went to turn off all 4 cameras, I noticed that the new Canon hadn't been recording! Gaaahhhhh!!!!! Noooooo!!!! My wife got this new Canon T2i for this past Christmas from our family members. It is insanely nice and records in 1080p! Which I didn't really know until about a month ago. So I am going to be stealing it (burrowing, whatever) to make covers. It is an amazing camera, but doesn't appear to be very user friendly to a newbie like me. I thought I'd hit the proper record buttons but apparently I didn't. So no right side behind the back angle this time. =( Lesson learned.
