Tesla Discounts Free FSD Free Supercharging Is it Time to Buy

Tesla has been steadily lowering prices on all Models this year. Although prices have somewhat stabilized, Tesla continues to fall back on a tried and true method of driving up demand, discounts and incentives. • While the Tesla Model 3, Model Y, Model S and Model X all saw significant reductions early this year, those prices have in some cases floated back up some. At the end of last quarter, Tesla was offering about $1k off on existing Model 3's in inventory and $5k off on Model S and Model X in inventory. For the Model X and Model S, Tesla was also offering 10k supercharging miles for free. • This quarter, we are seeing much the same, but this time, discounts and offers seem to have gotten better than Q1 of 2023. Here in Q2 of 2023, Tesla is offering discounts on the Model 3, Model S and Model X, as well as free supercharging, and free FSD trial. The Model Y continues to sell extremely well and Tesla once again is not offering discounts on its prized offering. • For the Model 3, Tesla has starting marking down existing inventory by about $2k. In addition, they are also offering 3 months of Free FSD for all Model 3 deliveries until the end of the month. • Over on the Model S and Model X, Tesla is offering 3 years of unlimited free supercharging. In addition, they are offering 3 months of Free FSD when purchased through a referral. Finally, the Model S LR and Plaid is being discounted by $7,500. The Model X LR is being discounted the same $7,500, but the Plaid Model X is only being discounted $5,000. • With these incentives and discounts, you are able to get a new Tesla at quite a discount. That raises the question, is now the time to buy a new Tesla? • Its very hard to predict what happens next with he Model S and Model X as sales seem to have slumped over the last couple of quarters. These discounts seem to be really good, but next quarter prices could go down again, a refresh could come, any number of changes could happen to drive up demand again. • On the Model Y, with no discounts, its pretty clear that Tesla has no interest in lowering prices on the Model Y any time soon. In addition, the refresh Model Y, Project Juniper, has not gone deep into development yet. The refresh Model Y is still many months away so there won't be much in the way of lingering inventory for a while. • The Model 3 is the hardest one of all to recommend getting now. Inventory continues to grow on the Model 3 as consumers await the new refresh Model 3, also known as project Highland. This refresh is going to be making its way into customer hands very soon, and because of this, most people are holding off their Model 3 orders. This refresh will be a proper refresh and should bring forward a new driving experience for the aging Tesla Model 3 lineup. • So with all of that, its always hard to know when to buy a Tesla. Tesla is always innovating and always bringing something new to their lineup.
