If you didn't like it, don't like it :) • This was a very delicious recipe, although time-consuming it is very worth it, ingredients listed down below. • For the Chashu and Sauce/Tare: • A slab of pork belly, skinless preferred • 4 cups of water • 1 cup of soy sauce • 1/2 cup of brown sugar • 1/2 cup of sake • 1/4 - 1/3 cup of honey • 2 inch knob of ginger, washed and peeled • 3 green onion/scallion • 4 garlic cloves or as much as you like • Don't forget to season the pork belly with salt and pepper before rolling up. • Sear the pork belly on all sides • add to a pot of simmering water, 1 hour • then add to a saucepan or small pot • add all ingredients • simmer for 30 mins • flip • simmer for another 30 mins or until fork tender • after, boil and reduce the sauce until the desired thicc-ness • For the ginger scallion oil: • 2 inch know of ginger, washed no need to peel • 5 green onions/scallion • 2 cloves of garlic • 2 cups of canola oil • blend up the vegetables and add oil that has been heated up to 220 degrees • Assemble like in the video, I hope you all enjoy this recipe, and I hope you guys make it one day, the 2 hours spent making the chashu will be worth it.
