One of the most beautiful towns in all of Greece, is Nafplion and the former capital of the country. The seaport town on the Peloponnese peninsula, has wonderful views from its seafront cafes across the Argolic gulf towards the mountains of Arcadia. The pretty romantic town is only two hours drive from Athens, and has a sophisticated medieval atmosphere and enough sights to fill a week. • A walk around the attractive narrow paved streets of the old town is marvellous.
