Her objection that the killings had been an act of self defence where not considered valid by the courts even when it transpired that her first victim had served 10 years for rape. Her erratic mood swings, outspokenness and inconsistent legal representation have probably contributed to the determination of many involved to let her have the death sentence, for others money seems to have been the driving force.
