But in the NBA where the line between winning and losing can be so thin, contending teams like the Oklahoma City Thunder, Dallas Mavericks, Philadelphia 76ers, Boston Celtics, Minnesota Timberwolves, and even the Orlando Magic have loaded up on their rosters not just by signing huge free agents but also by signing low-profile players to steal contracts. • Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks have not only landed Klay Thompson but they also signed versatile wing Naji Marshall to help propel the Mavs back to the Western Conference finals. The Okc Thunder have landed Alex Caruso and Isaiah Hartenstein this offseason to solidify their contender status but they also re-signed guard Isaiah Joe to a long-term deal. Philadelphia has landed Paul George to play with Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey but they also acquired two-way wing Caleb Martin. The Orlando Magic are an emerging young playoff team and they just got more stability by signing defensive forward Jonathan Isaac to a new deal. • Obviously, the Boston Celtics are still the favorites to win the NBA title next season but there are also a ton of other contenders than can challenge them.
