Medium shot van driving away • STEPHEN CHOW OFFERS FREE FERRY RIDE TO PROMOTE NEW FILM 'THE MERMAID' • Hong Kong's comedic superstar Stephen Chow returns with his latest film The Mermaid. • The fantasy film, directed and written by Chow, tells the story of a young man rescued by a mermaid after a boat crash and the adventures the two get into. • To promote his new movie, Chow offered free ferry rides for all passengers in Hong Kong on Monday (11 JAN. 2016). The elusive director showed up at the publicity event alongside his stars, Taiwanese singer/actor Show Luo and newcomer, Chinese actress Lin Yun. • Chow said that he's always been fascinated by mermaids. • I've loved mermaids since I was little. I'm very happy to be able to make a film about it, he explained. • It wouldn't be a Stephen Chow film without some quirky, off-beat characters, with Show Luo filling the void in his latest project. • The 37-year-old actor, who appeared in Chow's last film Journey to the West as a wimpy, white-faced nerd, joked he's never normal when seen through Chow's eyes. • Yesterday, the look for my character, the Octopus, was released.
