Chimi Lhakhang was build by Ngawang Choegyel in 1499 and it was blessed by the Divine Madman, Drukpa Kinley. Since it is blessed by the Divine Madman, Bhutanese consider it as a one of the most important monastery. The monastery is popular as a fertility temple and many childless couples come here to receive blessings. Locals say that till the date, those childless couples have been blessed with kids.
