SRBMinerMULTI How to prepare for Monero RandomX fork

Monero will change it's algorithm from CN/R to Randomx approximately on Nov. 30 2019. • You want to be ready until then, so let's set SRBMiner-MULTI to start mining only when the fork happens. • Easy with the start_block_height parameter! • We know the fork will happen at block height 1978433. • Until then, the miner will just wait, and wait, connect to the pool and wait, reconnect and wait.....and wait • Let's go: • 1. Download SRBMiner-MULTI from from http://www.srbminer.com • 2. Unzip the archive somewhere • 3. You need to get a wallet address, or use your old address if you have one. • 4. Go to miner folder and double click on guided-setup.bat • The interactive configuration creator will start • 5. Let's see the questions and answers: • Coin name should be the name of the coin you are creating the configuration for. In this example it will be Monero • Algorithm for Monero is 'randomx'. You need to type this without the quotes. • Address and port of mining pool will be Nanopool • This is not a nicehash pool, so write 'n' • Wallet address is the one you created with the wallet software, or your old address. • Password can be anything • Do you want to use your CPU for mining? Answer 'y' because we will be only mining with CPU • How many CPU threads to use for mining? Set to 0 (auto) • Logging can be useful when you have some issues and want to track them down. Let's set this to no 'n' now • Do you want to run miner in the background, without a window ? Answer 'n' because we want to see the miner window • 6. Basic configuration is done, we need to add the start_block_height parameter the pools file. • Open Pools\\pool-Monero.txt and copy-paste there start_block_height : 1978433 • 7. Add retry_time : 90 to the config file we just created, so miner will try to reconnect to the pool every 90 seconds • • Now all you have to do to start mining is double click 'start-Monero.bat' and wait for the fork to happen at block 1978433. • Happy mining :)
