A traditional parsi disg which is made using caramelised onions and sugar which together impart a deep brown colour to this rice, This dish is traditionally served with Dhansak and Kachumbar salad in most Parsi homes. • http://www.vahrehvah.com/brown-rice-v... • • Ingredients: • Ingredient Measure Units • Basmati Rice (soak the rice 30 minutes) 1 cup • whole garam masala (each) 2 gram • Peppercorns 5 Numbers • Bay leaves 3 Numbers • Onion 1 big • Salt To taste • Sugar 1 1/2 Tsp. • Water 2 cups • Oil 2 tbsp. • Directions -- Method: • 1. Heat oil in a pan add whole garam masala, peppercorns, bay leaves onion slices, salt, cook the onions till it is brown in color. • 2. And add sugar lightly caramelize it mix it well, add water (1:2), to the boiling water add Basmati Rice put the lid on and let it cook for 5 minutes. • 3. Then mix it once and again put the lid on and let it cook for some time in a slow flame and switch off the flame. • 4.
