Vata dosha treatment for dehydration focus on helping the body reabsorb water and fluids back into the body. This Ayurvedic medicine for dehydration is called VataADE, as it mainly rehydrates the vata and pitta dosha. • This would not be best for kapha dosha (unless severely imbalanced) as kapha dosha naturally has a strong water retention within their system. • Causes of Vata dehydration • Fear • Excess motion (travel) • Lack of oil and water • Ama mixes with vata or pitta and obstructs the annavaha srotas (stomach channel), which could decrease the desire for food or water intake • Excessive sun exposure • Over-exertion or anorexia • Excess alcohol or caffeine • Signs of Vata dehydration • Dry mouth • Feeble voice • Rough throat • Rambling speech • Exhaustion, sleeplessness • Abnormal thinness • VataADE is a super hydrating concoction as it works in assisting proper absorption back into the body. • How to make VataADE as a Vata dosha treatment for dehydration: Isotonic Water: • 1 - 1.5 quart water (purified spring water is best) • ¼ tsp fresh, high-quality sea salt • 1 lemon juiced (I use lime, but lemon better for vata because it is warming) • 1 tbsp maple syrup • Sip 8oz every hour. Drink daily until you feel your hydration has stabilized. • Gulp gulp, • Clare • • MY JAM // • Website - http://clareminded.com • Instagram - / clareminded • Facebook - / clareminded • Soundcloud - / clare-michalik • Credit to my school, The California College of Ayurveda for teaching and sharing such wisdom with me.
