#PaikJongWon #PaikFather #SotteokEotteok • Here’s the recipe for Sotteok eotteok which is a variation of a popular rest-stop snack, Sotteok sotteok. • It’s fun making it and eating it! • Make skewers with various ingredients depending on your taste~ • =================== • Sotteok eotteok (sausage, fish cake, and rice cake skewers) • • [Ingredients] • Rice cake for tteokbokki • Ham (for gimbap) • Mini Sausages • Square-shaped fish cake • Toothpick or skewer • [Sauce ingredients] (approx. 10 skewers) • 3 tbsp (36g) brown sugar • 1 tbsp (10g) dark soy sauce • 2 tbsp (40g) ketchup • ½ tbsp (10g) red pepper paste • 1/3 cup (60ml) water • • [Directions] • 1. Cut the square-shaped fish cake into thirds to match the length of the rice cake. • 2. Make diagonal cuts into the sausages or make cross-cuts at the end of the sausages. • Tip: Sausages will pop when frying if cuts are not made in the sausages. • 3. Cut the ham for gimbap 1.5 cm thick. • 4. Put enough water in the pot to submerge the rice cake and parboil the rice cakes until they soften (approx. 2-3 min). • 5. Once the rice cakes have softened, rinse in cold water and drain. • Tip: Make sure all moisture has been removed before frying as oil may splatter if the rice cakes have moisture. • 6. Make sotteok sotteok by putting the sausages and rice cakes in alternating order on toothpicks. • 7. Make eotteok eotteok by wrapping the rice cakes with the fish cake and skewering them on toothpicks. • Tip: When using fish cake, use two toothpicks to secure as it may become loosened. • 8. Make a variety of skewers by mixing the sausages, ham, fish cake, and rice cakes. • 9. Put the brown sugar, ketchup, dark soy sauce, red pepper paste, and water in the pan and put over low heat. Stir well until the brown sugar and red pepper paste have melted and mixed thoroughly. • 10. Add an ample amount of oil to the pan and heat up the oil. • 11. Cook the sotteok eotteok in heated oil until both sides are golden. Take them out and drain the oil. • 12. Put the sotteok eotteok in the prepared sauce and mix thoroughly to finish.
