Simple recipe for a Popular Jamaican street food Pepper Shrimp. There are MANY variations of this dish prepared and sold in Jamaica. • The most popular place to find this dish would be Middle Quarters St. Elizabeth, Jamaica. Upon visiting you will realize that each vendor has THEIR OWN way of flavouring the dish. • Use whole shrimp with the head. Even when the intestinal vein is removed, keep the whole shell on. • Remember that adding colouring/annatto is OPTIONAL. The redness can be obtained just by using PLENTY red hot peppers.
