Germany No Longer Recognizes America

Germany’s likely next chancellor says that this is no longer the America he knows. With him saying “The way officials, the Department of Justice, the public prosecutors’ offices, the way they’re all being thrown out, the way they’re pardoning people who have been sentenced to years in prison, that will have consequences for America”. Earlier this year, Germany warned that Trump appeared to be attempting to become a dictator. Politico Europe says Germany doesn’t recognize America anymore for a few reasons: • 1 - Trump has purged the government of prosecutors law enforcement who investigated him for crimes he committed. • 2- He has fired government watchdogs who are there to make sure the President and the executive branch aren’t stealing from the government. • 3- Trump has declared ambitions to take control of Canada, Greenland, Mexico, and Panama without using military force. • This comes after another report that says the EU is split on what to do. They sent a message to Trump in December that they’re ready to team up on China with the US if he’s down. They sent this message again shortly after he was sworn in too. But they were met with a threat to invade Greenland and tariff threats So the bloc is reportedly having talks on whether or not to grow closer with China. The Financial Times said that Trump is sowing the seeds of an Anti-American alliance. And one Eastern European official told us - ”The US will lose to China because Trump resembles a late stage Soviet leader”.
