An hour and a half into the session with not a single hop glitch made, only a handful of wheelie clips (which are much slower). When I got this clip, I just went finally . I wasn't expecting anything out of this run though. This was only the start after all, just 3 sessions in. I would need at least a week to have any hope of beating Jake's 52.507 and taking the CR for myself. Or so I thought. • The lap started out with a really clean shroomless cut. It could've been tighter but considering I haven't really practiced shroomless driving, this is basically as good as it will get. A little shaky on the soft drifts, but very clean overall. When I saw the split, 16.656, things became serious in an instant. Being .2 ahead of Jake and my best split by .2, this already had a great shot. But there were still two whole laps ahead, so all I could do was drive as best as I could. • Opening turns were a tad wide due to nerves, but more than good enough, and I had a good angle into the cut. Unfortunately, I shroomed too late and ended up going pretty wide on landing. Thankfully, I managed to get a little bit of the edge ride on the following turn which honestly saved the lap from being a complete disaster. Rest of the lap was good. • Entering lap 3, I was nearly .25 ahead of CR. Any lap without a glaring mistake would do it. First turns were once again pretty shaky. All I could think of was the shroomcut, as this would be what would make or break the lap. Due to my poor driving, my mini turbo came late and I ended up with an alignment way too far to the left. By some miracle, I managed to get a really good cut given the situation. I then released my mini turbo a smidge too late, but otherwise I kept it together and managed to finish the run cleanly. • My first reaction was well, that was easy . Considering I went from not even having a 3lap glitch time to Canadian record in only 3 days, and having mentally prepared myself for a long and arduous grind, I was pleasantly surprised. But then as I looked at the finish time, I realized it was somehow 9th American. At that point I just started popping off like crazy. It never even crossed my mind that this would be a time I could realistically achieve. To make this moment even more special, I was streaming this on Twitch and had received a big raid from flambambam just a little bit earlier. • Big shoutout to flambambam! • I'm now up to holding 5 CRs at once, and I hold the most glitch/shortcut CRs out of any other Canadians. It feels strange to have reached this point as I never imagined myself getting to a level like this, but I know I'm still not done improving. More to come in the future. • Thank you for watching!
