Yes, you read that right. 358 (my local) is getting these unique-to-Britain Irizar ie 'Trams'. If you are interested I recommend this article (https://www.ianvisits.co.uk/blog/2021.... The route failed trials with E200 EVs as they will not be able to last a whole day on one charge, after all, this is the longest single decker route in London. This also means that 358 will be losing the MECs which will possible transfer to MG but it is unconfirmed. • About the bus in question, these Irizar ie 'Trams' are closer to trolleybuses, but still wouldnt count as one - they only have a pantograph to charge up at terminuses (Crystal Palace and Orpington Station). This is the reason why they have been proposed. They don't have to drive on one charge the whole day and they can fill up after every route. These will likely be strictly allocated on 358, as it can only refill at 358's terminuses. I'm quite excited for these as the route will stay with uniqute buses although I'd hate to say goodbye to the Citaros. • The picture I used for this one was used in Bordeaux France, and is the only kind of this bus which isn't bendy.
