Salt Pepper Shrimp is one of those dishes that we always order at a Chinese restaurant and I’m excited to show how easy it is to make right at home! This recipe is made with minimal ingredients, lightly coated shrimp that’s pan fried until crispy and it’s so delicious served over rice! • Salt Pepper Shrimp • Ingredients • 2 lbs shrimp, peeled or unpeeled • 1/2 cup cornstarch • 6 garlic cloves, minced • 4 green onions, sliced, white and green parts separated • 2 jalapeño peppers, seeds removed and sliced • Salt and fresh cracked pepper • 1/3 cup + 2 tablespoons oil • Directions • Season shrimp lightly with salt and pepper, and combine with cornstarch. • Heat about 1/3 cup of oil in a pan over medium high heat and cook shrimp in 2 batches, about 1-1/2 minutes per side. For the second batch and a couple more tablespoons of oil if needed. Set shrimp aside and leave a little bit of oil in the pan. • Add jalapenos, garlic and the white parts of green onions. Season with salt and cook for 1-1 1/2 minutes (this is really delicious over rice). • Remove from heat and return shrimp back to the pan along with the green parts of the onions. Season with salt and freshly cracked pepper. • WATCH NEXT • GARLIC SHRIMP SCAMPI • • I CHALLENGED MY HUBBY MADE HAWAII’S F... • HABACHI SHRIMP FRIED RICE • • HIBACHI SHRIMP FRIED RICE • GROUND BEEF STIR FRY WITH GREEN BEANS • • GROUND BEEF STIR FRY WITH GREEN BEANS • Instagram • / joannegpimentel
