Inspired by the story of well-known 19th Century Ophicleide player Sam Hughes, who was famous for playing this aria. First I played it on my 19th Century Saxhorn by A.H. Rott, but then I was curious how it would sound on a modern Euphonium. I happened to have my Wessex Festivo EP104 at the ready, but unfortunately only with the stock mouthpiece. • O Ruddier than the Cherry from Acis and Galatea by G.F.
