The Prince and Princess of Wales have unique sleeping arrangements at Kensington Palace, and not something you might expect. Unlike most people, they don’t sleep upstairs. Their bedroom is located on the ground floor of Apartment A1 within Kensington Palace, their former official London residence. • • The vast property, previously occupied by Princess Margaret, has 20 rooms across four floors, including a gym, a lift, and nine staff rooms. Kensington Palace, built around three courtyards, resembles connected red-brick terrace houses. • • Today, William and Kate permenantly reside in Adelaide Cottage, in Windsor, with their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and of course, Prince Louis. The charming four-bedroom home, part of the Crown Estate, was built in 1831 for Queen Adelaide, the wide of King William IV using building materials from the Royal Lodge. • • Adelaide Cottage has a rich history: Queen Victoria had breakfast there, and Group Captain Peter Townsend, famous for his romance with Princess Margaret, once called it home. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle almost took residence in Adelaide Cottage, but opted for Frogmore Cottage before quitting the UK entirely. • Follow us for more royal news, history, and highlights: • ♛ Subscribe to our YouTube channel (tap the bell icon and stay up to date with all the latest Royal videos!) - https://bit.ly/3jNBYZ7 • ♛ Find us on TikTok / royalfamilychannel • ♛ Follow us on Facebook - / royalfamilychannel • ♛ Tweet with us! - / royalfamilyitnp
