Many disabilities go unnoticed by others, but that doesn’t make them any less real. Blue badges are awarded for a reason, to provide essential support to those with significant health challenges. What others think or assume about your condition doesn’t matter. • As someone living with an inoperable brain tumour, I too have a blue badge. Some days are good, but others can be incredibly challenging. I experience balance issues, coordination problems, memory loss, and double vision, to name just a few debilitating symptoms. Although my tumour is classified as benign, #BenignIsNotFine, it significantly impacts my life. • For anyone feeling judged or self-conscious about using their blue badge, remember this: you earned it for a reason. It’s there to support you, and you have every right to use it. Don’t let others’ ignorance make you question yourself. If someone questions your disability, try this response (or one that feels right for you): • What’s my disability? It’s called ‘none of your f****** business!’ • Let’s shift the conversation about invisible disabilities and advocate for understanding! Your health comes first, always. Use your badge confidently, knowing it’s there to help you. • #InvisibleDisabilitiesMatter #BlueBadgeRights #DisabilityNotAlwaysVisible #BenignIsNotFine #YouCantSeeItButICanFeelIt #NoJudgementJustSupport #InvisibleDisabilities #BrainTumourAwareness #HelpLisa2HelpOthers
