2017 KTM 150 XC W First Impressions of the Small Bore 2 Stroke

I was getting the bike ready for a dirt bike trip we took to Stanley Idaho the following week. In order to get the bike ready for the great outdoors, I installed a Lectron Carb, put Tubliss on the tires, put a skid plate on, and installed a rear disc guard. The only real reason I did the Lectron carb is because I didn’t quite have the jets I would need to lean the fuel air mixture out as much as would be needed. • Riding this bike has certainly been a learning experience. I will have much more to come on this thing for sure. One thing that will say at this point is that I don’t like the XC-W gearing. 1st and 2nd gear are just too low for my tastes. My first two KTMs were 300 XC-Ws and I loved them. They were 2012 and 2014 models. At the time they were great. Now-a-days, I’d much, much rather be on an XC model for the gearing. Although I thought the lower gearing would be okay on this 150, I’d still rather have the higher gears on this bike. • That’s all for now. I don’t want to share too much.
