Sivakumar, a farmer and civil engineer from Karur, practices natural farming by cultivating traditional paddy varieties on his land. This year, he is using the shade net seedling method, which involves covering sown seed paddy with a shade net and watering it for three days to promote sprouting. After 17 days, he uproots and transplants the seedlings, which grow faster and have less root damage. Due to a local labor shortage, he hired twelve agricultural workers from West Bengal, who can transplant paddy across 3 acres in a day. This season, Sivakumar is growing traditional varieties like Karuppu Kavuni, Mappillai Samba, Sirumani Samba, Seeraga Samba, and Karudan Samba, using the single-seedling method for better yields and reduced costs. • . • FOLLOW NLTV NEWS: • Facebook:   / nltvnews   • Instagram:   / nltvnews   • Twitter:   / newsnltv   • Subscribe to our channel '#NLTV', A Satellite Channel for Exclusive Nagaland News : https://bit.ly/3ww2xFx
