Your Side's Relationships Manager, Jane Meccelli, takes you through the steps of how to access a Home Care Package through My Aged Care, what to expect when you get in contact, how the initial assessment process works, the best advice when you are on a Home Care Package waiting list and tips for navigating the aged care system. • The first step is to receiving a Home Care Package is register online (https://www.myagedcare.gov.au) or over the phone (1800 200 422) with My Aged Care. Once that happens, it can take from 6 to 12 weeks to get assessed. If it is an emergency it can happen within a week, for example if you have just been discharged from hospital.
