Acts 1536 – 1610 Extending the Border of Kingdom Work

The author of Chronicles tells us “Jabez called out to the God of Israel, ‘If only you would bless me, extend my border, let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm, so that I will not experience pain.’ And God granted his request.” -- (1 Chronicles 4:10) Jabez was a scribe, which meant he diligently studied God’s word. Jabez doesn’t pray for prosperity, but provision. My study Bible tells me the Chronicler wanted to encourage those who had returned from exile. Among other things, he emphasized God’s grace toward Israel through sovereign acts of election. • We’ll see all those elements as Paul begins his second mission trip: provision, election, grace, and an extended border. • A study of Acts chapter 16 36-16 10 based on “Explore the Bible: Fall 2024” from Lifeway.
