What? Two Pokémon themes in a row? Madness. • This is actually the first Pokémon DPPT theme I posted on the channel, back in 2015. It was a very... poor remaster. Aha, I've improved a ton, but I'll include a link to the other TWO versions of this track I did at the end of the description. • ▾ About this Remix ▾ • Canalave City is my favorite theme from the Pokémon series, without a doubt. It's a theme I was ALWAYS singing when I was younger, and it was the track that got me into video-game music and even music in general. Its main part's chord progression is a very iconic one for me, and I use it in many of my original compositions and remixes. For some reason, it's the one that always comes to mind when I sit at my piano. Perhaps because it's easy to play, and easy to remember. The second part's bassline (played by a piano in the original) is also one of my favorites. The song is just really powerful, in general. • As you might have noticed, I aimed for a more relaxed and acoustic feeling with this remix. Instead of electro-jazz, its genre is classic jazz; I felt like only a calmer remix of the original theme would do it justice. By calmer I mean, of course, when compared with my other recent remixes, since it is still fairly upbeat. The original track only possesses two main parts and an intro/transition, therefore I added a LOT more on the remix. The original's chord progression, unlike Veilstone, is very easy and intuitive, and I tried to add a bit more variety on the extra parts. I can say I'm REALLY happy with how all the parts feel like they belong together. I also added two themes from other Pokémon games: Azalea Town, from Pokémon Gen II, and the surfing theme from Pokémon Gen V, which also fit extremely well. I also have to say this remix feels a lot less electronic and a lot more like a composition, since I focused on the whole song and not separate parts. • Since it's classic jazz, the instruments deviate a bit from what I normally use.
