He uses Bjørn Jens as his artist name, and is known from several publications and international collaborations. • Kristiansen grew up in Sandnessjøen on Helgeland. In his childhood he was an avid football player, and in the 70s he was a good goalkeeper in the 2nd Division of the time. Before breaking out as a musician he was a sailor in foreign trade, which many of his songs carry. Music has always been close to Kristiansen, and he has been playing in bands since 1976. Since the late 1980s he has been living as a troubadour. • He debuted with the album Mackøl and gull eggs in 1988. Since then Kristiansen has released many albums.
