Typical New PL ident and intro to News Now. This shows the general format of News Now during the first season of The New PL, which featured very dated chryon L3s. In the news, London-area high schools were on high alert for bomb threats in the aftermath of the Columbine shootings and the shootings in Taber, Alberta in 1999. Here we see future News Now anchor Kathy Mueller reporting on the situation in London including at Westminster and Saunders. Stephanie Mandziuk reported on similar threats at East Elgin in Aylmer. Note the call-in segment, which was very rare on the 6:00 edition. George Clark was a 30+ year veteran of CFPL-TV by this point, and is currently co-anchor of First Local on Rogers Cable 13 in London.
