This is a quick summary video explaining Civilisation and Its Discontents by Sigmund Freud. Freud tries to account for why we as civilised people, feel so discontent and dissatisfied within the societies which we have built. I offer my own thoughts and Freud talks about how the Ego, Super-Ego (Conscience), Id (Libido) and Thanatos (Death instinct) are instincts, conscious or unconscious, that compete against each other, and these stem from the individual which amplifies out into the community and society in general.
