This song was written and recorded in 1972 by Delbert McClinton and Glen Clark. It is being performed here by a band called Nasty Habits * a well known club band in Brooksville, Florida and the Florida Keys during the late 1970s and the early - mid 1980s and probably beyond. I played bass in the band from around 1979 until 1984 and lost touch with the other members after that. The band appeared regularly at the Hilltop in Brooksville and the Caribbean Club in Key Largo. This song was recorded live at J's Lounge in Islamorada, Florida in 1982. The band members at that time were: John Pollard, lead guitar and vocals; Richard Williams, drums and vocals; Richard also played guitar and preferred to play guitar when another drummer (like Alonzo Merit) was available, but I'm pretty sure Richard is playing the drums on this song; Gary Lloyd on Keyboard; Sandra Lloyd (who was not related to Gary Lloyd) on vocals and percussion; and Robin Sumner (me) on bass guitar. That was the basic configuration, however, on any given night it was possible that other local musicians might be sitting in. If I'm leaving anybody out, I honestly just don't remember now almost 30 years (!) later. If anyone who still remembers sees this and would like to set me straight, then please do so by all means. • The recordings from which this selection was gleaned were not made for commercial purposes and were never published or sold. They were basically just so we could hear how we sounded. Photos are from my own personal album. I am putting this on YouTube because it brings back memories and I enjoy watching and listening to it. • We did not own the name Nasty Habits. I don't know how many other bands used it before or since, but this was in 1982. I have tried to distinguish us from other bands in these videos by associating our band with Key Largo.
