http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1814253/ • an actor prepares • T I M M A L O N E Y ... Shaktim ... an actor prepares • I just have to repeat myself and finish the uploading of the takes I have done since I started my master class with Jack Stehlin ... and the reason I am putting these up is because this weekend I worked for 1 hour and 10 minutes in class on This Soliloquy... so the 'next' time I do it... it is hopefully going to be dramatically different. for now, I don't want to waste the TAKES I achieved that have been waiting in my editing bay to be completed... • I believe the work I did and learned yesterday will move me closer to fulfilling Shakespeares' words. As far as interpretations, I DO believe that one can Choose a plethera of inner worlds ... and motivations for saying these words. One may Choose to believe that Shakespeare meant that Hamlet wanted to kill himself in this moment... But one may also Choose to consider other options... such as the fact that if Hamlet does take ARMS ... he very well may be killed in battle. Now this is the way that I was considering this soliloquy for the longest time... and so many of my TAKES are coming for a truly revengeful place. I look forward to exploring the things I learned yesterday and I hope you will share me with your friends... Hamlet TAKE 1 and Hamlet TAKE 238... You TELL me... what differences do you experience, if any? • One mans' journey to become a working Actor... all the while growing a deep love for filmmaking and editing... • Featured as Hamlet in Seneca Productions' Christmas Documentary, entitled, 'To be or not to be in Shakespeare', which aried in the United Kingdom and included other actors such as Patrick Stewart, Sir Ian McKellen and Sir Lawrence Olivier. A great Honor! • http://www.senecaproductions.com • Hamlet by William Shakespeare • Act III, Scene 1 • • To be, or not to be: that is the question: • Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer • The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, • Or to take arms against a sea of troubles, • And by opposing end them? To die: to sleep; • No more; and by a sleep to say we end • The heart-ache and the thousand natural shocks • That flesh is heir to, 'tis a consummation • Devoutly to be wish'd. To die, to sleep; • To sleep: perchance to dream: ay, there's the rub; • For in that sleep of death what dreams may come • When we have shuffled off this mortal coil, • Must give us pause: there's the respect • That makes calamity of so long life; • For who would bear the whips and scorns of time, • The oppressor's wrong, the proud man's contumely, • The pangs of despised love, the law's delay, • The insolence of office and the spurns • That patient merit of the unworthy takes, • When he himself might his quietus make • With a bare bodkin? who would fardels bear, • To grunt and sweat under a weary life, • But that the dread of something after death, • The undiscover'd country from whose bourn • No traveller returns, puzzles the will • And makes us rather bear those ills we have • Than fly to others that we know not of? • Thus conscience does make cowards of us all; • And thus the native hue of resolution • Is sicklied o'er with the pale cast of thought, • And enterprises of great pith and moment • With this regard their currents turn awry, • And lose the name of action. - Soft you now! • The fair Ophelia! Nymph, in thy orisons • Be all my sins remember'd. • I feel very grateful today because I found out that I will be playing The King and Siward in The Scottish Play, Macbeth. It is my first Shakespearean Role... and so, here I go off into the unknown territory of taking on a role in Shakespeare. (I mean sitting in front of my computer is one thing... ha) • But I am a stage actor and I was destined to open this door some day. I am so happy it is now. • Thank you for your continued uploading me to other websites around the world and I'm sure there are many more viewers than the 300,000 plus I've accumulated this past year. • • God Bless you on your journey and know that to dream your dream is one thing... • But God fully supports and encourages us to ACT !!! Because • 'Dreams are Made of Action' • peace, • Shaktim • http://www.timmaloney.biz • http://www.circustheatricals.com • Hamlet 365 ... Shaktim ... YouTube STAR 2009
