Below are the instructions for the 2-Day Miralax colonoscopy preparation. • First purchase a 357 gram bottle of Miralax and 96 ounces of Gatorade (or something similar - regular or sugar free). Just be sure not to choose any red or purple drinks. • Stop all solid food two days before your procedure. • Plan to drink plenty of clear liquids, starting with a clear liquid breakfast. Drink 64 ounces of clear liquids throughout the day and evening. Clear liquid choices may include: water, sports drinks, black coffee, tea, light or dark soda, chicken or beef broth, jello, popsicles and juice without pulp. Remember to avoid any red or purple drinks. • The day before your procedure you'll begin taking the prep. You will want to stay close to home. At 9 am, you'll mix up and drink 1/3 of the total Miralax Gatorade solution over the next two hours. Just combine the Miralax and Gatorade together. Be sure to shake up the solution each time you take a drink to ensure you are drinking even doses. Drink plenty of clear liquids throughout the day. • At 5:30 pm, start drinking the next third of the solution over the next two hours. Set the remaining third aside for the next morning. • Four hours before your arrival, drink the remaining third of the solution over the next two hours. Then two hours before your arrival time, take your regularly prescribed medications except diabetic medications. If you are diabetic, please do not take your insulin or oral diabetic medication the morning of the procedure. Instead bring your morning blood sugar reading with you to your appointment.
