A great do it yourself project is updating your fireplace logs to a fireplace glass design. Mark LaPalm, a Scottsdale Interior Decorator, shows you how to make this simple change and how to pick out your glass for your modern fireplace. This concept can also be used for outdoor fireplaces, not just your indoor fireplace. If you have a propane setup instead of natural gas, as shown here, be sure to use vermiculite as a base and fully cover your burner. Propane is heavier than gas and will sink.
