Kompressor means Supercharged in German. This is just basically a short outside review of the 1999 Mercedes-Benz SLK230 Kompressor with a 2.3L Supercharged 4-cylinder engine, 5-speed automatic transmission with Winter and Sport mode. A 5-speed manual transmission, as well as the 6-speed manual, is also available in the SLK models. The later SLK's also came with a 7-speed automatic with manual shift mode. All the SLK's are roadster convertibles that all feature the PRHT (Power Retractable Hardtop) like the Mazda Miata, and the Volkswagen Eos. They also come with a power sunroof if you would rather use that than the convertible roof itself. • Mercedes-Benz had made the SLK Class roadster back in either 1997 or 1998, but not sure offhand. Engine and transmission choices were offered in the SLK's. Mercedes-Benz had begun making the Kompressor models, not just the SLK, from sometime in 1998 until sometime in 2005. If anyone can help me out with information about Kompressor and AMG models, I'd greatly appreciate it.
